“G. M. Choo is no stranger to the world of Batik. Choo had a great interest in art since his childhood days and harboured the dream of accomplishing great achievement in the field of art. His mission is to promote Malaysian culture and tourism abroad through his artistic journey. With his inborn artistic talents and skills, Choo easily expresses his love of nature by putting fishes, mountain, river, rocks into pieces of batik. Choo has been involved in this field for over 40 years and continues to dazzle local and international visitors. His painting techniques which are considered priceless, make him stand in a class of his own.”
GM Choo has had a great interest in art since his childhood days and also had dreams of accomplishing great achievements in the field of art. Since then, he has never stopped painting and after thirty years of hard work and experience, his dream became a reality following the establishment of GM CHOO ART GALLERY in Malacca, a town which was recently declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage site.
With his artistic talents and skills, Choo easily expresses his love of nature by painting fishes, mountains, rivers, rocks in his batiks. Having grown up in a fishing village, he is passionate about fishes and the subject matter of his paintings has always evolved around all kinds of fishes, especially Japanese Koi Fish.
With Choo’s interest in art and also his determination to achieve greater success, we can expect more beautiful pieces of artworks from him in the near future. In fact, he is still learning at his old age and continues to improve himself everyday in order to produce more genuine, creative and wonderful pieces of art.
